This hadith is about Umar consulting people regarding compensation for abortion of a woman and how Muhammad b. Maslamah testified him in this regard as per the judgement given by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ that a male or female slave should testify you in such cases. The term Imlas means a man striking the belly of his wife and anything which slips from hand or from some other thing is called Malis according to Abu 'Ubaid's explanation on this hadith. This hadith teaches us that we must seek justice even if it involves something as sensitive as abortion and also highlights the importance of testimony in such cases where one needs to be held accountable for their actions or decisions taken by them which may have caused harm to someone else's life or property etc..
