Sunan Abi Dawud 4372 (Book 40, Hadith 22) #24663
Punishment for Polytheists

SUMMARY: The hadith explains that if a polytheist repents before they are arrested, it does not prevent them from receiving the punishment they deserve.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: The verse "The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Apostle, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite side or exile from the land.most merciful" was revealed about polytheists. If any of them repents before they are arrested, it does not prevent from inflicting on him the prescribed punishment which he deserves.

QUICK LESSONS:
Be mindful of your actions and strive to do what is right .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains that if someone commits the sin of polytheism, or worshipping multiple gods, and then repents before they are arrested, it does not prevent them from receiving the punishment they deserve. This is because Allah is merciful and just; He will forgive those who repent but will still punish those who do wrong. It teaches us to be mindful of our actions and to always strive to do what is right in order to avoid any consequences. We should also remember that Allah's mercy is greater than His wrath; He will forgive us if we sincerely repent for our sins.
