Sunan Abi Dawud 4274 (Book 37, Hadith 35) #24564
Reminding People of Their Wrongdoings

SUMMARY: Allah has revealed verses to remind people of their wrongdoings and to call them back to the right path.

The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Sa'id b. Jubair from Ibn 'Abbas through a different chain of narrators. Ibn 'Abbas said: The verse: "Those who invoke not with Allah" applied to polytheists. He said: About them another verse, "Say: O my servants who have transgressed against their souls" was also revealed.

QUICK LESSONS:
Turn towards God in repentance .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about Allah reminding people of their wrongdoings and calling them back to the right path. The verse "Those who invoke not with Allah" was revealed for polytheists, while another verse "Say O my servants who have transgressed against their souls" was also revealed. This shows that Allah is always there for us, even when we make mistakes or transgress against our own souls, He will still be there to guide us back on the right path. We should always remember that no matter how far we stray from the truth, Allah will never abandon us and will always be there for us if we turn back towards Him in repentance.
