The Prophet's Perfume

SUMMARY: The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to use a special perfume for himself.

Narrated Anas ibn Malik: The Prophet had sikkah with which he perfumed himself.
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ، عَنْ شَيْبَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُخْتَارِ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ كَانَتْ لِلنَّبِيِّ سُكَّةٌ يَتَطَيَّبُ مِنْهَا

EXPLANATIONS:
According to the hadith narrated by Anas ibn Malik, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to use a special perfume called sikkah. This was a type of itar, which is an Arabic word for fragrance or scent. It is believed that this was part of his daily routine and he would use it as part of his worship and devotion to Allah. This hadith teaches us that we should take care in our appearance and hygiene, as well as in our spiritual life. We should strive to make sure that we are pleasing both inside and out, so that we can be closer to Allah and live according to His teachings.
