SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ advised Umm Salamah, Ummul Mu'minin to use one fold of her veil and not two.

Narrated Umm Salamah, Ummul Mu'minin: The Prophet came to visit her when she was veiled, and said: use one fold and not two. Abu Dawud said: "Use one fold and not two" means: "Do not fold it like the turban of a man. Do not double it up manifolds".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the proper use of veils. It was narrated by Umm Salamah, Ummul Mu'minin who was visited by the Prophet (ﷺ). He advised her to use one fold of her veil and not two. This hadith teaches us that modesty is important in Islam and that women should cover themselves properly when they are outside their homes. Women should wear a veil or hijab which covers their head and chest area but it should be done in a way that does not draw attention to them or make them look like men. They should also avoid wearing too many folds as this can be seen as excessive or ostentatious. Furthermore, this hadith also teaches us about the importance of following Islamic teachings even when it comes to something as simple as clothing choices.
