The hadith narrated by Jabir ibn Abdullah tells us that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was concerned with the appearance of people. He noticed a man whose hair was dishevelled and asked why he did not find something to make it lie down. He also saw another man wearing dirty clothes and asked why he did not find something to wash his garments with. This hadith teaches us that we should take care of our hygiene and clothing in order to present ourselves in a respectable manner. We should always strive for cleanliness in our physical appearance as well as our environment so that we can be pleasing to Allah SWT. It is important for us to remember that how we present ourselves reflects on our character, so it is essential for us to maintain good personal hygiene habits such as brushing teeth regularly, washing hands often, taking showers daily etc., as well as wearing clean clothes every day.
