The Preference of Striped Cloaks by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The striped cloaks were the most preferred clothing of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Narrated Qatadah: We asked Anas b. Malik: Which cloth was dearer to the Messenger of Allah ? or Which cloth did the Messenger of Allah like best to wear ? He replied: The striped cloaks (Hibrah).
حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، قَالَ قُلْنَا لأَنَسٍ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَالِكٍ - أَىُّ اللِّبَاسِ كَانَ أَحَبَّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أَوْ أَعْجَبَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ قَالَ الْحِبَرَةُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the preference of clothing by Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). It was narrated by Anas b. Malik that when asked which cloth was dearer to the Messenger of Allah, he replied that it was the striped cloaks or Hibrah. This hadith teaches us that we should be mindful and conscious about our clothing choices and dress modestly as per Islamic teachings. We should also strive to follow in the footsteps of our beloved prophet and take his example as a guide for our lives.
