Show compassion & understanding towards others in difficult situations .

This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's granting permission for two of his companions - 'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Awf and al-Zubair b. al-'Awwam - to wear silk shirts during a journey because of an itch they had. This shows that the Prophet was compassionate and understanding towards his followers and allowed them some leniency in certain situations when necessary. He also showed mercy by allowing them relief from their discomfort while on their journey. The values taught in this hadith are compassion, understanding, mercy and leniency towards others in difficult situations.
