Dress modestly while still looking nice

This hadith is about the importance of modesty in clothing. It tells us that even though Ibn Umar was buying a Syrian garment in the market he returned it when he saw it had red warp. Red warp was considered to be too flashy for him to wear as it would draw attention to himself. Furthermore, when mentioning this incident to Asma', she showed her mantle which was made from a course ornamented cloth with its collar, sleeves, front and back hemmed with brocade. This shows us that even though one can dress nicely they should still maintain modesty in their clothing choices so as not to draw attention away from Allah's message or teachings.
