The Reward of Kindness

SUMMARY: Doing good deeds and treating people with kindness will be rewarded by Allah.

Narrated Abu Musa: Allah's Messenger said, "He who has a slave-girl and educates and treats her nicely and then manumits and marries her, will get a double reward".
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، سَمِعَ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ مَنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ جَارِيَةٌ فَعَالَهَا، فَأَحْسَنَ إِلَيْهَا ثُمَّ أَعْتَقَهَا وَتَزَوَّجَهَا، كَانَ لَهُ أَجْرَانِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the reward of kindness. It was narrated by Abu Musa, who said that Allah's Messenger said that whoever has a slave-girl and educates her nicely, treats her well, manumits her and then marries her will get a double reward from Allah. This hadith teaches us to be kind to others and do good deeds as it will be rewarded by Allah. We should treat everyone with respect regardless of their social status or background as this is what Islam teaches us. We should also strive to educate ourselves so we can better serve our community and society at large. By doing so, we can earn the pleasure of Allah which is the ultimate goal in life for every Muslim.
