This hadith is about fulfilling needs with generosity. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was asked by someone for a robe of silk brocade, and instead of giving them money, he sent them a Jubbah of brocade so they could sell it and fulfill their need. This teaches us that we should be generous when helping others in need, even if it means sacrificing something valuable or expensive to us in order to help them out. We should also be mindful that our help may not always come in the form we expect or want; sometimes it can come in other forms which are just as beneficial if not more so than what we initially requested for ourselves. Furthermore, this hadith shows us that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone's life; by sending this person the Jubbah instead of money, he was able to use it as an opportunity to make some extra income while still getting what he needed from the situation.
