Showing Love and Respect for Bani Tamim

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) showed love and respect to the people of Bani Tamim, and encouraged others to do the same.

Narrated Abu Huraira: I have loved the people of the tribe of Bani Tamim ever since I heard, three things, Allah's Messenger said about them. I heard him saying, These people (of the tribe of Bani Tamim) would stand firm against Ad-Dajjal". When the Sadaqat (gifts of charity) from that tribe came, Allah's Messenger said, "These are the Sadaqat (ie charitable gifts) of our folk"'.Aisha had a slave-girl from that tribe, and the Prophet said to 'Aisha, "Manumit her as she is a descendant of Ishmael (the Prophet).

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of showing love and respect for the people of Bani Tamim. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ showed his love for them by saying three things about them, that they would stand firm against Ad-Dajjal, that their charity was from their own folk, and that 'Aisha should manumit her slave-girl from this tribe as she was a descendant of Ishmael. This hadith teaches us to show kindness towards all people regardless of their background or ethnicity. We should also be generous in giving charity as it is an act beloved by Allah SWT. Furthermore, we should strive to free slaves whenever possible as it is a great act of mercy towards those who are oppressed.
