This hadith highlights the importance of reading and understanding Allah's words. It was narrated by Abdullah ibn Mas'ud that Prophet Muhammad used to read a verse from the Quran with doubling of consonants. Abu Dawud further explained that this word muddakir can be pronounced as mim with a short vowel u, dal with a short vowel and kaf with a short vowel i. This hadith emphasizes on reciting the verses correctly in order to understand their true meanings and gain maximum benefit from them. It also teaches us to pay attention while reciting so that we can pronounce each word correctly according to its rules of Tajweed.
