QUICK LESSONS:
Strive to uphold justice and fairness between people

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a verse from the Quran which states that if someone takes another person's life, then their own life should be taken in return. Similarly, if someone injures another person's eye, then their own eye should be injured in return. This is known as retaliation or qisas in Arabic. It is meant to ensure justice and fairness between people by making sure that no one can get away with taking advantage of others or causing them harm without facing consequences themselves. The Prophet was teaching us through this verse that we must always strive to uphold justice and fairness in our lives so that everyone can live peacefully together without fear of being wronged or taken advantage of by others.
