The Equality of Believers

SUMMARY: Believers who stay at home and do not receive any harm are not equal to those who strive in the cause of Allah.

Narrated Zayd ibn Thabit: The Prophet used to read: "Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt (ghayru ulid-darari) but the narrator Sa'id did not say the words "used to read"

QUICK LESSONS:
Strive for a good cause, be mindful towards your actions

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the equality of believers. It is narrated by Zayd ibn Thabit that Prophet Muhammad used to read a verse which states that believers who sit at home and do not receive any harm are not equal to those who strive in the cause of Allah. This hadith teaches us that all believers should strive for the cause of Allah regardless if they are sitting at home or going out into battle. It also teaches us that we should be mindful of our actions and how they can affect others as well as ourselves. We should always remember that we are all equal before God and no one is better than another because everyone has their own unique strengths and weaknesses.
