QUICK LESSONS:
Strive for justice in our dealings with others no matter what our relationship with them may be like .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the prohibition of selling or donating the Wala’ of a freed slave. In Islamic law, when a slave is freed they are given something called ‘Wala’. This is an obligation that the former master has to give to their former slave and it can include money, land and other possessions. According to this hadith, it is forbidden for either party to sell or donate this ‘Wala’ after it has been given. This shows us that Islam values justice and fairness in all transactions between people regardless of their social status.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was very clear on this point as he wanted everyone to be treated fairly and justly in all matters related to freedom from slavery. He also wanted people who were formerly slaves not to suffer any financial loss due to their emancipation from slavery but rather benefit from it instead. This hadith teaches us that we should always strive for justice in our dealings with others no matter what our relationship with them may be like.
