The tradition mentioned above by Rawh b. 'Ubadah from Sa'id b. Abu 'Arubah. In this version he did not mention the words "the slave should be required to work". The main idea behind this hadith is that slavery should not be used as an excuse to exploit people but rather it should be seen as an opportunity to provide them with basic rights such as food, shelter and clothing along with requiring them to do some kind of work so they can contribute towards society in some way or another . This teaches us about the importance of justice even when dealing with those who are less fortunate than us .
