Eating Garlic and Onions in Moderation

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ advised people to eat garlic and onions, but not to come near the mosque until its odour goes away.

Narrated AbuSa'id al-Khudri: The garlic and onions were mentioned before the Messenger of Allah . He was told: The most severe of them is garlic. Would you make it unlawful? The Prophet said: Eat it, and he who eats it should not come near this mosque until its odour goes away.

QUICK LESSONS:
Eat garlic and onions in moderation

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about eating garlic and onions in moderation. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ advised people to eat these foods, but not to come near the mosque until their odours have gone away. This teaches us that we should be mindful of our actions when we are around places of worship, as well as being aware of how our behaviour affects others. We should also be conscious of how much garlic and onions we consume, so that it does not become a nuisance for those around us.
