Drinking from a Skin-Vessel

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ called for a skin-vessel on the day of the battle of Uhud and drank from its mouth.

A man of the Ansar quoting from his father said that the Prophet called for a skin-vessel on the day of the battle of Uhud. He then said: Invert the head of the vessel and he drank from its mouth.
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، - رَجُلٍ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ - عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ دَعَا بِإِدَاوَةٍ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ فَقَالَ ‏ "‏ اخْنُثْ فَمَ الإِدَاوَةِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ ثُمَّ شَرِبَ مِنْ فِيهَا

EXPLANATIONS:
On the day of the battle of Uhud, Prophet Muhammad called for a skin-vessel and inverted its head before drinking from its mouth. This hadith shows us that even in times of difficulty and hardship, one should still maintain their manners and etiquette. It is important to remember that even in difficult situations we should not forget our manners as it is an important part of our faith. This hadith also teaches us to be humble and grateful for what we have no matter how small it may seem.
