The Forbidden Intoxicants

SUMMARY: Intoxicants are forbidden and those who drink wine and die while addicted to it will not be able to drink it in the afterlife.

Ibn 'Umar reported the apostle of Allah as saying: Every intoxicant is forbidden. He who drinks wine in this world, and dies when he is addiction to it, will not drink it in the next.
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، - فِي آخَرِينَ - قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ - عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ خَمْرٌ وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ وَمَنْ مَاتَ وَهُوَ يَشْرَبُ الْخَمْرَ يُدْمِنُهَا لَمْ يَشْرَبْهَا فِي الآخِرَةِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the prohibition of intoxicants such as wine. It is narrated by Ibn 'Umar that Prophet Muhammad said that every intoxicant is forbidden and those who drink wine in this world and die while addicted to it will not be able to drink it in the afterlife. This hadith teaches us that we should stay away from intoxicants as they are prohibited by Allah. We should also strive to stay away from any kind of addiction as it can lead us astray from our faith and prevent us from entering paradise.
