Sunan Abi Dawud 3599 (Book 25, Hadith 29) #23889
Avoid False Witness

SUMMARY: False witness is equivalent to attributing a partner to Allah and should be avoided.

Narrated Khuraym Ibn Fatik: The Messenger of Allah offered the morning prayer. When he finished it, he stood up and said three times: False witness has been made equivalent to attributing a partner to Allah. He then recited: "So avoid the abomination of idols and avoid speaking falsehood as people pure of faith to Allah, not associating anything with Him.

QUICK LESSONS:
Speak truthfully
EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that false witness is the same as attributing a partner to Allah, which is one of the greatest sins in Islam. He then recited a verse from the Quran which emphasizes avoiding false witness and associating anything with Allah. This hadith teaches us that we must always speak truthfully and avoid lying or making false statements, as it can lead to major sinning. We must also remember not to associate anything with Allah, as this too is considered a great sin in Islam.
