Sunan Abi Dawud 3526 (Book 24, Hadith 111) #23816
Payment Through Milch Camels

SUMMARY: Payment for goods and services can be made through the use of milk from milch camels and riding them.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet as saying: The milk of milch camels may be drunk for payment when in pledge, and the animal may be ridden for payment when it is pledge; payment being made by the one who rides and the one who drinks. Abu Dawud said: In our opinion this is correct.

QUICK LESSONS:
Think outside the box when making payments , Respect animals even while making payments

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how payment for goods and services can be made in a unique way. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that payment could be made by drinking the milk of milch camels or riding them when they are in pledge. This means that if someone has pledged something to another person, they can pay back what they owe by either drinking the milk of a milch camel or riding it. Abu Dawud also agreed with this opinion, meaning that it is an accepted practice in Islam. This hadith teaches us to think outside the box when it comes to making payments, as there are many different ways we can do so without having to use money all the time. It also shows us how important animals are in our lives, as we should not forget their importance even when making payments for goods and services.
