Do not go out to meet riders; do not buy in opposition; respect others when conducting business transactions.

This hadith, narrated by Abu Hurairah, emphasizes the importance of conducting business ethically. The Prophet Muhammad is reported to have said that one should not go out to meet riders in order to conduct business with them, nor should one buy in opposition to another person. Additionally, it is forbidden to tie up the udders of camels and sheep before buying them; if a buyer does so and then milks them but finds that they are not satisfactory, he can return them along with a sa' of dates as compensation. This hadith teaches us that we must be honest and fair when engaging in any kind of transaction or business deal; we must never take advantage or try to manipulate someone else for our own benefit.
