Sowing Without Permission

SUMMARY: It is wrong to sow in someone else's land without their permission, and one has no right to the crop, but they may have what it cost them.

Narrated Rafi' ibn Khadij: The Prophet said: If anyone sows in other people's land without their permission, he has no right to any of the crop, but he may have what it cost him.

QUICK LESSONS:
Ask for permission before doing something on someone else’s property.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that it is wrong to plant or sow in someone else's land without their permission. If a person does this, they do not have any right to the crop that grows from the land, but they may be able to get back what it cost them for planting or sowing. This hadith also teaches us about respecting other people's property and not taking advantage of others. We should always ask for permission before doing something on someone else's property and respect their wishes if they say no.
