The Blessing of Business Dealing

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ blessed a man for his business dealings, and praised him for his ability to make a profit from any venture.

Narrated Urwah ibn AbulJa'd al-Bariqi: The Prophet gave him a dinar to buy a sacrificial animal or a sheep. He bought two sheep, sold one of them for a dinar, and brought him a sheep and dinar. So he invoked a blessing on him in his business dealing, and he was such that if had he bought dust he would have made a profit from it.

QUICK LESSONS:
Be honest in your business dealings

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of business dealings and how it can be blessed by Allah. It is narrated that the Prophet gave Urwah ibn AbulJa'd al-Bariqi a dinar to buy a sacrificial animal or sheep. He bought two sheep, sold one of them for a dinar, and brought back the other sheep and dinar. Upon seeing this, the Prophet invoked blessings on him in his business dealings as he was so skilled that he could make profits from any venture he undertook. This hadith teaches us that we should strive to be honest in our business dealings as it will bring us blessings from Allah. We should also strive to be skillful in our work so that we can make profits even if we are dealing with small amounts of money or goods.
