The Tradition Attributed to Abu Lubabah

SUMMARY: This hadith is about a tradition that was transmitted by Ibn Ka'b Malik through a different chain of narrators, which was also attributed to Abu Lubabah. It was also narrated by Yunus from Ibn Shihab from some of the children of al-Sa'ib son of Abu Lubabah and al-Zabidi from al-Zuhri from Husain b. al-Sa'ib son of Abu Lubabah.

This tradition has also been transmitted by Ibn Ka'b b. Malik through a different chain of narrators. This version has: "He then mentioned the tradition to the same effect. This versions attributes this story to Abu Lubabah". Abu Dawud said: This tradition has been narrated by Yunus from Ibn Shihab from some of the children of al-Sa'ib son of Abu Lubabah. A similar tradition has also been transmitted by al-Zabidi from al-Zuhri from Husain b. al-Sa'ib son of Abu Lubabah.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُتَوَكِّلِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ ‏:‏ كَانَ أَبُو لُبَابَةَ، فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ وَالْقِصَّةُ لأَبِي لُبَابَةَ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ ‏:‏ رَوَاهُ يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ بَنِي السَّائِبِ بْنِ أَبِي لُبَابَةَ، وَرَوَاهُ الزُّبَيْدِيُّ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ أَبِي لُبَابَةَ مِثْلَهُ

This hadith talks about a tradition attributed to the companion named Abu Lubaba. It has been transmitted by several people including Ibn Ka’b Malik through a different chain or silsilatul hadeeth which means it has been passed down orally over generations until it reached us today in its original form without any changes or alterations made to it. Furthermore this tradition has also been narrated by other people such as Yunus ibn Shihabi who heard it from some children related to Al Sa’ib bin Abi lubaba and then later on another person called Al Zuhri heard it again from Husain bin Al Sa’ib bin Abi lubaba . All these narrations are considered authentic as they have gone through multiple chains before reaching us today thus making them reliable sources for understanding the teachings and values taught in Islam .
