Warning Against Hypocrisy

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) warned that anyone who has four specific characteristics will be a hypocrite, and anyone who has one of these characteristics will have one characteristic of hypocrisy until they give it up.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr: The Prophet said, "Whoever has (the following) four characters will be a hypocrite, and whoever has one of the following four characteristics will have one characteristic of hypocrisy until he gives it up. These are: (1 ) Whenever he talks, he tells a lie; II whenever he makes a promise, he breaks it; III whenever he makes a covenant he proves treacherous; IV and whenever he quarrels, he behaves impudently in an evil insulting manner".

QUICK LESSONS:
Be honest in your words & actions . Respect others & do not quarrel with them . Keep your promise & be trustworthy .

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ warned against having four specific characteristics as they would make someone a hypocrite. These are telling lies, breaking promises, being treacherous and quarreling impudently in an evil insulting manner. It is important to remember that even if someone only has one of these traits, they still have the potential to become a hypocrite until they give it up. We should strive to be honest in our words and actions so that we can stay away from hypocrisy and its consequences. We should also try not to quarrel with others or insult them as this is not the way of the righteous believers.
