QUICK LESSONS:
Respect for the dead
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is narrated by Jabir and it speaks about the prohibitions regarding graves. It states that the Prophet forbade sitting on graves, plastering them with gypsum, and building any structure over them. This hadith teaches us to respect the dead by not disturbing their resting place in any way. We should not build structures or sit on top of a grave as this is disrespectful to those who have passed away. We should also avoid plastering a grave with gypsum as this can be seen as an attempt to beautify it which is also forbidden in Islam.
