This hadith is about the marriage of the Prophet Muhammad and Safiyyah. After her husband was killed in battle, the Prophet chose her for himself and took her to Sadd Al Sahba where she was purified according to Islamic law before they could cohabit. This hadith teaches us that even though it is permissible for a man to marry more than one woman according to Islamic law, it is important that each woman be treated with respect and kindness. It also shows us that even though a person may have suffered a great loss or tragedy in their life, there can still be hope for them if they are willing to accept Allah's will and trust in Him.
