Sunan Abi Dawud 2910 (Book 19, Hadith 26) #23200
The Valley of Banu Kinarah and the Quraish's Oath of Unbelief

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) asking Usamah b. Zaid where he will stay during his Hajj, and the Prophet's response being that they will stay at a valley called al-Muhassab, which was where the Quraish took an oath on unbelief against Banu Hashim.

Narrated Usamah b. Zaid: I said: Messenger of Allah, where will you stay tomorrow ? This (happened) during his Hajj. He replied: Has 'Aqil left any house for us ? He then said: We shall stay at the valley of Banu Kinarah where the Quraish took an oath on unbelief. This refers to al-Muhassab. The reason is that Banu Kinarah made an alliance with the Quraish against Banu Hashim that they would have no marital connections with them, nor will have commercial transactions with them, not will give them any refuge. Al-Zuhri said: Khalf means valley.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about when Prophet Muhammad asked Usamah b. Zaid where he would stay during his Hajj journey. The Prophet responded that they would be staying in a valley called al-Muhassab which was where the Quraish took an oath on unbelief against Banu Hashim. This means that they made an agreement not to marry or do business with them or give them refuge in any way. It is important to remember that we should always strive for peace and unity among all people regardless of their differences in beliefs or backgrounds as this was something very important to our beloved prophet Muhammad PBUH who taught us these values through his actions and words throughout his life time.
