Taking Care of Orphans' Property

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) advised a man to use the property of his orphan without spending it lavishly or taking it as his own.

Narrated 'Amr b. Suh'aib: On his father's authority, said that his grandfather told that a man came to the Prophet and said: I am poor, I have nothing (with me), and I have an orphan. He said: Use the property of your orphan without spending it lavishly, hurrying and taking it as your own property.

QUICK LESSONS:
Use an orphan's property responsibly without wasting resources or taking advantage for personal gain .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about taking care of orphans and their property. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ advised a man to use the property of an orphan in his care without spending it lavishly or taking it as his own. He taught that we should be careful with how we spend the money and not take advantage of our position by using it for our own benefit instead of for the benefit of the orphan in our care. We should also be mindful not to waste any resources that are entrusted to us by others and ensure that they are used responsibly and with respect for those who have given them to us in trust. This hadith teaches us about responsibility and accountability when dealing with other people's possessions or resources; even if they are not ours directly but have been entrusted to us by someone else such as an orphan in our care.
