Sacrifice of Two Horned Rams

SUMMARY: The Prophet sacrificed two horned rams, uttered Allah's name and placed his foot on their sides.

Narrated Anas: The Prophet sacrificed two horned rams which were white with black markings, slaughtered, and uttered: "Allah is Most Great". and mentioned Allah's name and placed his foot on their sides.
حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ضَحَّى بِكَبْشَيْنِ أَقْرَنَيْنِ أَمْلَحَيْنِ يَذْبَحُ وَيُكَبِّرُ وَيُسَمِّي وَيَضَعُ رِجْلَهُ عَلَى صَفْحَتِهِمَا

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) sacrificed two horned rams which were white with black markings. He uttered the words “Allah is Most Great” and mentioned Allah’s name while placing his foot on their sides. This hadith teaches us that when sacrificing an animal, we should do so in a respectful manner by uttering the words “Allah is Most Great” and mentioning Allah’s name. It also shows us that we should be humble and thankful for what we have been given by God, as well as being mindful of how we treat animals.

This hadith also serves as a reminder to us to always remember God in our daily lives, no matter what task or activity we are doing. We should always strive to show gratitude for all that God has blessed us with, including animals which can provide food for us if they are slaughtered in a respectful manner according to Islamic teachings.
