SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) liked to stay in the field for three nights when he conquered a people.

Abu Talhah said "When the Apostle of Allaah prevailed on any people, he stayed three nights in the field. Ibn Al Muthanna said "When he prevailed over people, he liked to stay three nights in the field". Abu Dawud said "Yahya bin Sa’id used to object to this tradition for this is not from his early traditions because his memory was spoiled at the age of forty five. He narrated this tradition in the last days of his age". Abu Dawud said " It is said that Waki ' recived this tradition from him when his memory was spoiled".

Follow examples of Prophet Muhammad PBUH, strive even under difficult circumstances or with difficulty remembering things due age or other factors.

EXPLANATIONS:
According to this hadith, when the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) conquered a people he would stay in the field for three nights. This was his practice and it is said that Yahya bin Said objected to this tradition because his memory was spoiled at age 45. Waki' received this tradition from him when his memory was spoiled. This hadith teaches us that even if we are faced with difficult circumstances or have difficulty remembering things due to age or other factors, we should still strive to do our best and remember what we can of our faith and traditions.
