Prohibiting Riding Camels That Eat Dung

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad prohibited riding a camel that eats dung.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar: The Messenger of Allah prohibited to ride a camel which eats dung.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي سُرَيْجٍ الرَّازِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْجَهْمِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرٌو، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي قَيْسٍ - عَنْ أَيُّوبَ السَّخْتِيَانِيِّ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ عَنِ الْجَلاَّلَةِ فِي الإِبِلِ أَنْ يُرْكَبَ عَلَيْهَا

The Prophet Muhammad taught us to be mindful of the animals we use for transportation. He prohibited riding camels that eat dung because it is not healthy for the animal or the rider. We should also strive to use resources responsibly and not waste them unnecessarily.
