Sunan Abi Dawud 2517 (Book 15, Hadith 41) #22808
Fighting for Allah's Word

SUMMARY: The hadith is about a bedouin asking the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) which of four types of fighters is in Allah's path, to which the Prophet replied that it is the one who fights for Allah's word to have pre-eminence.

Abu Musa said "A bedouin came to the Apostle of Allaah and said "One man fights for reputation, one fights for being praised, one fights for booty and one for his place to be seen. (Which of them is in Allaah’s path?)". The Apostle of Allaah replied "The one who fights that Allaah’s word may have pre-eminence is in Allaah’s path".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about fighting and how it should be done. A bedouin asked the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ which type of fighter was in Allah’s path, and he replied that it was the one who fought so that Allah’s word would have pre-eminence. This means that if someone fights, they should do so with good intentions and not just for their own gain or reputation. It teaches us to strive for justice and righteousness even if we are faced with difficult situations or opposition from others. We must always remember to put our faith in God first before anything else.

The Prophet ﷺ also taught us through this hadith that we should never fight out of anger or hatred but instead strive for peace whenever possible. He showed us how important it is to think carefully before taking any action as our actions can have far reaching consequences both on ourselves and those around us. We must always remember to put God first when making decisions as He knows what is best for us all in every situation we face in life.
