This hadith explains the legal implications of buying and selling goods, such as date-palms and slaves. It was narrated by Abdullah ibn Mas'ud who heard it from the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. According to this hadith, if someone buys date palms after they have been pollinated, then the fruits will belong to the seller unless the buyer stipulates otherwise. Similarly, if someone buys a slave with some property attached to them, then that property will belong to the seller unless otherwise specified by the buyer.
