Fasting Three Days Every Month

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to fast three days every month without specifying which days.

Mu'adhah (al-'Adawiyyah) said: I asked 'Aishah: Would the Messenger of Allah fast three days every month ? She replied: Yes. I asked: Which days in the month he used to fast ? She replied: He did not care which days of the month he fasted.

QUICK LESSONS:
Fast regularly according to your own circumstances

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Mu'adhah al-'Adawiyyah and 'Aishah tells us that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to fast three days every month. He did not specify which days of the month he would fast, but rather left it up to his own discretion. This teaches us that fasting is an important part of our faith, and we should strive to make it a regular practice in our lives. It also shows us that we should be flexible in our religious practices, as the Prophet was not bound by any specific rules or regulations when it came to fasting. We can learn from this hadith that even though there are certain guidelines for religious practices, we should still be open-minded and willing to adjust them according to our own circumstances.
