Observe one day of fasting in this period which is Friday itself

This hadith is about fasting on Fridays. It was narrated by Juwairiyah bint al-Harith that the Prophet entered upon her while she was fasting on a Friday. He asked her if she had fasted the day before and if she intended to fast the next day. He then told her to break her fast. This teaches us that it is not necessary for Muslims to observe a continuous three-day fasting period from Thursday night until Saturday night as some people do; rather it is sufficient for them just to observe one day of fasting in this period, which is Friday itself. Furthermore, this hadith also shows us how kind and considerate the Prophet was towards his companions; he did not want them to put too much strain upon themselves or become overly exhausted due to excessive fasting so he advised them against it when possible.
