Be honest with yourself when it comes to your worship; strive for excellence but be mindful of your limitations as a human being; practice humility when talking about your deeds; remember Allah knows your intentions better than anyone else.

This hadith warns against boasting about fasting and praying during the holy month of Ramadan. It is likely that one would have taken some rest in between their prayers and fasts. The Prophet Muhammad was reminding us to be humble and not boast about our deeds, as we are all human beings who need to take breaks in order to stay healthy. He also wanted us to remember that Allah knows our intentions better than anyone else, so we should not try to show off or pretend like we are doing more than what we actually are doing. We should strive for excellence in our worship but at the same time be mindful of our limitations as humans.
