Using Collyrium While Fasting

SUMMARY: It is permissible to use collyrium with aloes while fasting.

Al-A'mash said: I did not see any of our companions who abominated the use of collyrium by a man who fasting. Ibrahim would permit the man who was fasting to apply collyrium with aloes.

QUICK LESSONS:
Use collyrium with aloes while fasting if it does not enter into your eyes or throat .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith discusses the permissibility of using collyrium with aloes while fasting. The hadith was narrated by two companions, Al-A'mash and Ibrahim. According to the hadith, it is permissible for a person who is fasting to apply collyrium with aloes. This means that a person who is fasting can use eye makeup such as kohl or eyeliner without breaking their fast. However, it should be noted that this only applies if the makeup does not enter into the eyes or throat of the person who is fasting. Therefore, it would be best for people who are fasting to avoid applying any type of eye makeup during their fast in order to ensure that they do not break their fast unintentionally.
