QUICK LESSONS:
Follow Islamic laws regarding divorce if needed; Try to work through issues with patience and understanding before taking such a drastic step; Use divorce as a last resort; Respect for Islamic laws when getting divorced; Do not take divorce lightly or do multiple times .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the limits of divorce in marriage. It was narrated by Yunus bin Jubair who asked Ibn 'Umar how many times he had pronounced divorce to his wife. Ibn 'Umar replied that he had only done it once. This shows that even though divorce is permissible in Islam, it should be used as a last resort and not taken lightly or done multiple times. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said “The most detestable of lawful things to Allah are divorces” which further emphasizes the importance of limiting the use of this practice.

Divorce should not be seen as an easy way out for couples who are having difficulties in their marriage but rather they should try to work through their issues with patience and understanding before taking such a drastic step. If couples do decide to get divorced then they must follow the Islamic laws regarding this matter so that both parties can move on with their lives without any legal complications or disputes arising from it later on down the line.
