Intimacy During Menstruation

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught his wives to wrap up their lower garment before engaging in intimacy during menstruation.

Maimunah daughter of Al Harith said "When the Apostle of Allaah intended to associate and lie with any of his wives who was menstruating, he ordered her to wrap up the lower garment(loin-cloth) and then he had association with her.

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow Islamic teachings and guidelines when engaging in intimacy during menstruation .

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Maimunah daughter of Al Harith speaks about the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) regarding intimacy during menstruation. He instructed his wives to wrap up their lower garment, which is known as an Izar, before engaging in any form of physical contact or Jima'. This was done out of respect and modesty for both parties involved. It also serves as a reminder that even though there are certain restrictions on physical contact during this time, it does not mean that couples should completely avoid each other or be distant from one another. Rather, they should still maintain a loving relationship with each other while adhering to the teachings and guidelines set forth by Islam.
