Avoiding Descriptions of Other Women

SUMMARY: A woman should not describe another woman's body to her husband as if he were looking at her.

Ibn Masu’d reported the Apostle of Allaah as saying " A woman should not rub her body directly with the body of another woman so that she describes it to her husband as if he were looking at her".

QUICK LESSONS:
Be mindful and respectful when talking about other women
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of avoiding descriptions of other women to one's husband. It is important for a woman to be mindful and respectful when talking about other women, especially in front of her husband. The Prophet Muhammad was teaching that it is wrong for a woman to talk about another woman in such a way that it would make her husband feel as though he was seeing the other woman with his own eyes. This hadith teaches us that we should be careful with our words and respect the privacy and dignity of others, even when talking about them in private conversations. We should also remember that our words can have an impact on how others perceive us, so we must always strive to speak kindly and respectfully.
