Fear Allah and Speak Truthfully

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the importance of fearing Allah, speaking truthfully, and obeying Allah and His Messenger in order to achieve success.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Mas'ud: The Messenger of Allah taught us the address in case of some need: Praise be to Allah from Whom we ask help and pardon, and in Whom we take refuge from the evils within ourselves. He whom Allah guides has no one who can lead him astray, and he whom He leads astray has no one to guide him. I testify that there is no god but Allah, and I testify that Muhammad is His servant and Apostle".You who believe,.fear Allah by Whom you ask your mutual rights, and reverence the wombs. Allah has been watching you". "..you who believe, fear Allah as He should be feared, and die only as Muslims" "..you who believe, fear Allah as He should be feared, and die only as Muslims""..you who believe, fear Allah and say what is true. He will make your deeds sound, and forgive your sins. He who obeys Allah and His Apostle has achieved a mighty success". The narrator, Muhammad ibn Sulayman, did mention the word "inna" (verily).

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith was narrated by Abdullah ibn Mas’ud who was a companion of Prophet Muhammad. In this hadith, the Prophet taught us an address that we can use when we are in need. The address starts with praising and thanking Allah for His help and mercy. It also includes testifying that there is no god but Him, as well as testifying that Prophet Muhammad is His servant and messenger. The address then goes on to remind believers to fear Allah by whom they ask their mutual rights from each other, as well as reverence the wombs which gave birth to them. It also encourages believers to speak truthfully so that their deeds will be made sound by Him, and He will forgive their sins if they obey Him and His messenger. Finally it ends with a reminder for believers to fear Allah as He should be feared so they can die only as Muslims. This hadith teaches us the importance of fearing God Almighty, speaking truthfully at all times, obeying Him and His messenger in order for us to achieve success in this life and hereafter.
