Sunan Abi Dawud 2029 (Book 11, Hadith 309) #22320
The Prophet's Sadness at the Ka'bah

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) entered the Ka'bah and was saddened by what he saw, as it would cause hardship for his community.

Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin: The Prophet went out from me, while he was happy, but he returned to me while he was sad. He said: I entered the Ka'bah, I know beforehand about my affair what I have come to know later I would not have entered it. I am afraid I have put my community to hardship.

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin tells us about an incident when the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) entered the Ka’bah in Makkah. He was initially happy but upon entering he became sad. He said that if he had known beforehand what he found out later on, then he would not have gone inside. This is because it caused hardship for his community. This hadith teaches us that even though we may be unaware of certain things in life, we should always be mindful of how our actions can affect others and try to avoid causing them any harm or difficulty. It also shows us how compassionate and caring the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) was towards his people and how much love and concern he had for them all.
