Sharing Date Palm Trees

SUMMARY: The Ansar and the Emigrants agreed to share the date palm trees between them, with the Emigrants taking care of the trees and sharing the fruits with Ansar.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Ansar said to the Prophet "Distribute the date palm trees between us and our emigrant brothers". He replied, "No". The Ansar said (to the emigrants), "Look after the trees (water and watch them) and share the fruits with us". The emigrants said, "We listen and obey".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a conversation between Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and two groups of people, namely, The Ansar and The Emigrants. The Ansar asked Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to divide up some date palm trees between them and their emigrant brothers. However, he refused their request. Instead, he suggested that they should look after the trees together by watering them and then share any fruits that come from it equally among themselves. Both groups agreed to this suggestion happily. This hadith teaches us about cooperation among different people in order to achieve a common goal or benefit from something together without having to divide it up into separate parts for each group or person involved. It also teaches us about being generous towards others by sharing what we have with those who are less fortunate than us so that everyone can benefit from it equally.
