Throwing Pebbles During Hajj

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was seen throwing pebbles at the Jamrah while riding a camel during the Hajj pilgrimage.

Sulaiman b. 'Amr b. Ahwas reported on the authority of his mother: I saw the Messenger of Allah near the Jamrat al-Aqabah (the third or last pillar) riding (on a camel) and I saw a pebble between his fingers. He threw the pebbles and the people also threw (stones at the Jamrah).

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow religious obligations with utmost sincerity and devotion

EXPLANATIONS:
During the Hajj pilgrimage, Muslims are required to throw stones at three pillars known as Jamrat al-Aqabah, which symbolizes rejecting Satan and his temptations. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was seen doing this ritual while riding a camel and holding a pebble between his fingers. This hadith serves as an example for Muslims to follow in order to fulfill their religious obligations during Hajj and reject Satan's temptations in life. It also teaches us that even if we are performing rituals, we should do it with utmost sincerity and devotion so that our actions can bring us closer to Allah (SWT).
