Addressing the People on al-Adba'

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) addressed the people on his she-camel al-Adba' at Mina.

Narrated Harmas ibn Ziyad al-Bahili: I saw the Prophet addressing the people on his she-camel al-Adba', on the day of sacrifice at Mina.
حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ، حَدَّثَنِي الْهِرْمَاسُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ يَخْطُبُ النَّاسَ عَلَى نَاقَتِهِ الْعَضْبَاءِ يَوْمَ الأَضْحَى بِمِنًى

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's address to the people of Mina while riding his she camel named Al Adba'. This event took place during one of the days of sacrifice in Mina. The Prophet was delivering a khutbah or sermon to remind and encourage people to be mindful of their faith and practice it with sincerity. He was also reminding them that they should be kind and generous towards each other as well as those who are less fortunate than them. Through this hadith, we learn that it is important for us to take time out from our busy lives and reflect upon our faith so that we can stay true to its teachings. We should also remember to be kind and generous towards others regardless of their social status or financial standing in life.
