Circumambulation of the Kaaba

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) performed the circumambulation of the Kaaba while riding a camel, and then offered two rak'ahs of prayer.

Ibn 'Abbas said When the Apostle of Allaah came to Makkah he was ill. So, he performed the circumambulation on his Camel. He touched the corner (Black Stone) with a crooked stick as often as he came to it. When he finished the circumambulation, he made his Camel kneel down and offered two rak’ahs of prayer.

QUICK LESSONS:
Fulfill religious obligations with dedication and sincerity
EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was visiting Makkah and was ill at the time. He decided to perform the circumambulation of the Kaaba while riding on his camel. During this process, he touched each corner with a crooked stick as he passed it by. After completing his circumambulation, he made his camel kneel down and offered two rak’ahs of prayer in gratitude for being able to complete this ritual. This hadith teaches us that even when we are not feeling our best, we should still strive to fulfill our religious obligations with dedication and sincerity. It also reminds us that after completing any task or ritual, we should offer prayers in thanksgiving for having been able to do so successfully.
