Follow all rituals prescribed by Islam for acts of worship; Be mindful of your appearance; Conduct yourself with humility and modesty when performing religious duties; Wash off any perfume or saffron on you before starting your act of worship; Take off your tunic if you are wearing one before starting your act of worship .

A man came to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ while he was at al-Ji'ranah and asked him what he should do while performing his Umrah. Allah, the Exalted, then sent a revelation to the Prophet ﷺ. When he regained consciousness, he asked where the man who had been asking about umrah was. He then instructed him to wash off any perfume or saffron on him and take off his tunic before performing his umrah in the same way as one would perform hajj. This hadith teaches us that when we are performing our religious duties such as hajj or umrah, we must be mindful of our appearance and conduct ourselves with humility and modesty. We must also ensure that we follow all of the rituals prescribed by Islam for these acts of worship so that they can be accepted by Allah, The Exalted.
